Kinda Cool program messed with it today (Created that last entry with it then copied it over here).

So... Who knows I may switch. Not like many people give a rats ass but hey, someone might.

Ms crash Vid card not playing nice

Windows - Rebooted, before getting the Windows XP loading screen. Tried going into safe mode, it rebooted just like the normal os did. Tried going into recovery console but I didnt want to eff with the MBR until I have the data off. Still trying to figure out what the root cause of it was. Loaded up Knoppix (CD OS) and was able to access the data on the drive so I thought.. hmm Lets FTP this info over to another computer. It was going to take over 1.5 days to complete. I said Eff that.

Looked up on best buy and found a 250GB HDD for 89 bucks (On special through sunday I think). I may go back and get another one, I digress. Tried running both HDD together yet one was Ultra 100 and the other is Ultra 133 making for some interesting hangups and error message when booting the computer after XP was reloaded.

Took that HDD out of the original computer and put it in my Tivo Recordings computer - It said the disk needed to be scanned. It reset all the permissions on all folders it found (I was hoping it didnt screw something up) let it run last night. Woke up and it was accessible like it should be.

Copied over my Profile (First thing Im doing is a virus scan) it had about 20 mins left when I came to work. I can burn two, maybe three DVD’s and kill two birds - 1. Backup all my damn pictures of my kid that I would have been very pissed to lose. 2. Move the data over to the new HDD I just installed.

So yah last night wasnt a fun night for me however - It did go somewhere. I got a new HDD, Reinstalled windows (I was procrastinating on that for larger HDD) and I effectively increased my disk space on my Tivo DVR machine. I will write on that later.

Not to mention my Video card (which has been problematic lately) wont turn on now. It has its moments of not wanting to turn on so I leave the CPU on all the time. I need to get BFG to actually warranty their item and RMA me a new one because IT SHOULD WORK! For 300 bucks the damn thing better too.

TivoToGo Roxxors!

Okay so I finally broke down and got the Tivo Wireless adapter to see what the buzz has been about (for the past year) with TivoToGo.

I see the light :-).

I had an older USB card that worked with the Tivo and I didnt really need it anymore so I used it. So the past two days Ive been enjoying "backing up" all my shows on my HDD. I even showed my wife that I wouldnt have to open up my Tivo in order to copy and or transfer from my computer to the tivo and we can start recording in High quality lol!

So, thus far - TivoToGo is a great little addition to my DVR and it makes it nice to show pictures or play music from the PC. The biggest thing I see that makes it well worth it - Copying the shows to a computer then accessing them back again from the DVR.

I am also looking into getting another DVR from my cable provider (COX), so I can run HD in both rooms with my TV's and have one HD DVR. :-). Just depends on the signalling from the other room, im sure it will be fine for the Tivo :-)

Three Weekends of fun

So okay.. Im probably a bastard husband for doing this but I am trying to have some fun in the last few weeks that I will most likely not get in the not to near distant future.

I went to Glamis for New Years - Really I left friday night before New Years went to my friends house in El Centro. New Years eve we went out and met a few friends from Flagstaff AZ that were there. Either rate we stayed out there had some beers shot off some fireworks... Very pathetic ones.. what can you say when its illegal in AZ and CA.. you take what you can get.

Either rate My friend this weekend (the one from El Centro) comes out on Wednesday. Another friend of mine had a bday party and we went over and hung out. Thursday night I had that friend that just had a bday over for dinner. Friday - I took the day off but went in for a couple of hours anyway.. just because thats how it works.. And played Paintball. That was a ton of fun - just need to clean the guns now... before its too much of a pain to do so.... And my friend left today (this afternoon).

Next weekend (MLK weekend) I am taking Friday off - I get monday off because I work for the Government and I will be going back to glamis to have fun with another friend I have never met before on the internet. I really hope my friend Josh can go because then I can take the RV.. but if not oh well life goes on.. Im also supposed to meet another guy Alan, if he can make it also. It should be a lot of fun and I think I truly deserve some fun / r&r ect because ive not taken a day off (Other than normal holidays) in over 1 & 1/2 years... SO im taking some advantage of it..

But the question is.. am I bastard for going out and having fun for three weeks in a row? My wife hasnt hinted there is an issue.. but I know it will come up in future arguments... She will tell me Ive had my fun yadda yadda... I know the baby stage of our new arrival should be much easier than when the baby starts crawling and walking all over the place.

Well I hope im not too much of a bastard - Im not trying to be a jerk I just want to play because im a Kid.. A big.. kid.. :-) Have a nice day :-) Im going to try to upload pictures in the near future of my son... I bought Wedding Crashers and will be going to watch it with my wife now.. hasta la bye bye.
